FilNight Committees

This year’s FilNight could not have been possible without the extraordinary behind-the-scenes work done by our committees!

I wanted to be involved in Filipino Night because I love my culture and wanted to showcase the multiple facets of it to the general public. Organizing this event allowed me to better my understanding of Filipino-American and mainland Filipino popular culture and history. Filipino Night is a time for collective joy, and there was nothing more that I wanted than to play a part in spreading happiness to my community.

Marketing

Marketing committee supports many parts of making FilNight come to life. This includes refurbishing our website, organizing our theme and logo, making the day-of pamphlet and ticket design! Other responsibilities include advertisement posts/flyers and all work done on our FilNight Instagram account!

Sayaw

Taken from the Tagalog word for dance, Sayaw is FASA sa UW’s traditional Filipino folk dance group. This group performs for various organizations around Seattle, at the University of Washington, and of course, FilNight! Sayaw is led by FASA sa UW’s Sayaw Coordinator, Jess Gonzaga. Learn more about them and the other members of Sayaw below!

Production

Our incredible production committee works to connect many of the other committees like tech, cast, logistics and assist the directors. Of their many responsibilities, production is in charge of scheduling all-committee meetings for FilNight leads, finalizing cast, putting together stage hands and tech scripts, create backdrops/slideshows for day-of as well as schedule our rehearsals and performing spaces!

Logistics

Logistics works entirely behind the scenes as our trusty glue and calendar. The dates you picked up tickets in Red Square were planned by logistics as well as organizing these committees we’ve been highlighting and garnering volunteers/setting roles. The team also works to finalize our rehearsal and day-of schedules as well as room reservation.

Legacy

FASA’s very own hip-hop dance group takes shape through Legacy. This group gathers dancers of all levels to host workshops and choreograph performances like you’ve never seen before. Like many of our organizations in FASA, Legacy is student-led and serves as a way for members to engage in creative performance!

Cast

Meet the Cast of our performance - Be the Light! We have gathered some talented students and actors to be a part of this production. Take a look and catch them during our premiere on May 10 in Kane Hall!
