What is Filipino Night?
Filipino Night, or “FilNight,” is FASA sa UW’s annual flagship event that celebrates the rich cultural history of Filipinx Americans. FilNight gathers the entire FASA community to engage in storytelling through a student-led production and demonstrates talents through various performances.
This Year’s Story
Our main program this year will be a live skit called “Be The Light”! A historical-fiction narrative written by the late Steven Santos a FASA alum who tragically passed away in 2020. This story will showcase the legacy of José Rizal and the Filipino Revolution. This event will feature a live theatrical performance from our actors/actresses as well as traditional Filipino dances from Sayaw - our dance troupe. As we come together to celebrate 30 years of Filipino Night join us as we bring Steven's vision to life!
